At Chileno Bay, the staggered geometry of a series of villas draws upon the centuries-old tradition of hillside structures that distinguish Italy's Amalfi Coast.
Like the vertical towns that line the Mediterranean, the villas at Chileno Bay offer an unparalleled vantage point of the Baja coastline.
Chileno Bay, on the southern tip of Mexico's Baja Peninsula, defines a stretch of Los Cabos' rugged coastline along the Sea of Cortez. A community of hillside villas within the private Chileno Bay Golf and Beach Club contrasts the natural finish of locally quarried stone with off-white plaster reminiscent of seaside villages. Each of the 34 residences possesses a singular character formed through the considered arrangement of living spaces, cobblestone pathways, and landscaped gardens.
Open gathering areas are fronted by floor-to-ceiling glass walls that span the breadth of the space, a panorama framing the sea's wide expanse. The glass disappears into pocket walls as one moves toward the private pool terrace, which enjoys a mild climate even when the sun reaches its peak. Perched on the waterfront ridge, residents are simultaneously at ease in the embrace of modern living and one with the spirit of the sea just beyond.
